As Meisel had me thinking about stereotypical colours and patterns, I began to produce work that focused a little more on that. I wanted to explore stereotypes further so I began to research how women stereotypes were portrayed in the news.
I collected words that were used to describe women from the newspaper (positive and negative) and put them all together. I found myself wanting to juxtapose the typical girly colours and portrayal of women with "masculine" ideals.
